Welcome page

Welcome to my web page.

I am a working class woman who found poetry late in life. In 2006 I composed my first poem titled “The Boy” and “The Boy” was published in an anthology. However, before 2006 I had never written a poem. 2010 I began to write poetry (monthly) for a local parish magazine. Author of four collections of poetry “Butterfly Kisses and a Bee Sting Mind”2014. “Healing Garden” 2016, “Spirit Cracked not Broken” 2017, “Between Aurora and Twilight” 2020  Published many times, for more information please see About me and my poetry.

Event organiser.

In 2010 I self published my first collection titled “Poems To Heal” and from this I organised a poetry evening of my poetry and I sold many copies on the night. I created Rhyme and Real Ale, RARA for short from ignorance. I was astounded how successful RARA was and it terrified me. I helped to edit and publish 2 of RARA’s anthologies. Please look at the blog titled “John Tripp and Busy with Poetry” but the success was hurting me and my poetry and after 2 half years I left RARA.

In 2014 I created the Fireside Poets but we lost the fab venue because the owners wanted to charge each person £5 entery fee. I found another venue a local pub The Capel Hotel and a new name The Capel Poets. Please see the blog titled “Fireside to Capel”

I also organised a John Tripp evening, poet John Tripp was born in my town Bargoed, so I called the event “I was Born in Bargoed and I Want to Know Why?” For more information. Please look at the blog titled “John Tripp and busy with Poetry”

From this I created the first ever Literature Festival titled Rhymney Valley Lit and Art fest known as RVLAF. After three years of hard work and sometimes heart breaking work I decided to closed RVLAF.

Please look at https://pritchardjulie5.wordpress.com/2015/07/29/my-journey-in-creating-the-first-ever-rhymney-valley-literature-and-music-festival/

I organised a yearly event at TARAGGAN Educational Gardens Bargoed.
